Microsoft will Produce 3 Million Tablet Surface

Asus, Lenovo & Samsung Tablet Windows 8 set for RT

Barnes & Noble Inc. Nook Tablet (Ist.)Jakarta - Google dan Amazon sama-sama merilis komputer tablet dengan harga terjangkau. Hal ini tak ayal membuat persaingan di ranah tersebut semakin meruncing dan membuat produsen lain mematok harga yang kompetitif.

Salah satu produsen tablet yang akhirnya memutuskan untuk memangkas harga pirantinya adalah Barnes & Noble Inc. Adapun model yang mengalami pemangkasan harga adalah Nook Tablet 16 GB di mana dipangkas USD 50 sehingga menjadi seharga USD 169.

Dua model lainnya yang turut dipotong harganya adalah Nook Tablet 8 GB, dari yang semula seharga USD 199 menjadi USD 179. Lantas untuk Nook Color konsumen bisa mendapatkannya dengan harga USD 149 dari yang awalnya USD 169.

"Barnes & Noble berkompetisi dengan Nexus milik Google Inc, Kindle Fire besutan Amazon.com dan di waktu mendatang bisa jadi dengan 'iPad mini' dari Apple Inc," ujar Sarah Rotman Epps, analis dari Forrester Research Inc.

"Mereka harus tetap kompetitif dari sisi harga dan harus terus berinovasi dengan produk baru," tambahnya seperti dikutip detikINET dari WallStreetJournal, Senin (13/8/2012).

Google sendiri mematok harga Nexus 7 di angka USD 249 untuk versi 16 GB dan USD 199 untuk yang 8 GB, sama dengan harga Kindle Fire. Epps menambahkan bahwa retailer buku populer itu bersiap akan menawarkan tablet baru, alasan lain untuk pemangkasan harga di atas.
