Barnes & Noble Inc. Nook Tablet (Ist.)Jakarta - Google dan Amazon sama-sama merilis komputer tablet dengan harga terjangkau. Hal ini tak ayal membuat persaingan di ranah tersebut semakin meruncing dan membuat produsen lain mematok harga yang kompetitif.

Salah satu produsen tablet yang akhirnya memutuskan untuk memangkas harga pirantinya adalah Barnes & Noble Inc. Adapun model yang mengalami pemangkasan harga adalah Nook Tablet 16 GB di mana dipangkas USD 50 sehingga menjadi seharga USD 169.

Menurut Chairman IDC Johar Alam, penyelidikan melibatkan pihak-pihak yang berpengalaman. Mulai dari dari pemadam kebakaran hingga aparat kepolisian.

"Tadi saya dapat kabar hasil investigasi dari lab kepolisian bisa sampai sebulan," ujarnya kepada detikINET, Senin (13/8/2012).

Johar sendiri masih belum bisa mengungkap hasil penyelidikan awal soal kenapa UPS yang ditempatkan di lantai 2 gedung IDC tersebut bisa sampai meledak.

"Itu karena meledak, bukan karena load-nya, kalau load juga masih rendah. Investigasi dari vendornya jawabannya ya meledak. Tidak disebut karena kabel konslet atau apa," lanjut Johar.

Meski yang meledak cuma satu unit UPS, yang pasti imbas dari kejadian tersebut cukup besar. Sebab pasokan listrik untuk server-server yang bernaung di gedung IDC harus diputuskan.

Selain itu, tim pemadam kebakaran juga sampai diterjunkan untuk mencegah kemungkinan yang lebih buruk pada kejadian yang berlangsung pada Minggu (12/8/2012) malam tersebut.

"Namun kini pasokan listrik sudah kita alirkan ke masing-masing rak. Apakah server yang sebelumnya sempat mati sudah dinyalakan atau tidak itu dikembalikan lagi ke pemilik raknya," jelas Johar.

Dengan kejadian ini, IDC pun mengaku bisa saja memberikan kompensasi kepada para kliennya. Sebab hal itu sudah tertuang di kontrak kerjasama. Adapun seperti apa kompensasi yang akan diberikan itu akan dibicarakan dengan masing-masing klien.

"Nanti kita akan berdialog (soal kompensasi) karena standarnya ada. Nanti dilihat bagaimana hitung-hitungan standar ini, apakah memenuhi keinginan klien atau tidak. Yang pasti telah disebutkan di kontrak," Johar menandaskan.
